SVG Ventures | THRIVE Launches Sixth Academy Cohort, Featuring Diverse Startup Talent in Agri-Food Tech

Calgary, Alberta – March 12, 2025 – SVG Ventures | THRIVE, a global venture and innovation platform, is proud to announce the 14 companies selected for its highly anticipated sixth Academy program.

The THRIVE Academy is dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the agriculture and food technology sectors. This 12-week program is designed to de-risk and validate ideas, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate industry challenges. Entrepreneurs receive specialized programming, expert guidance, and mentorship, fully immersing them in THRIVE’s dynamic global ecosystem. Participants gain access to THRIVE’s extensive network of mentors, corporations, and investors, assisting them in refining their go-to-market strategies and preparing for successful capital raises.

The cohort showcases cutting-edge solutions and entrepreneurial talent from across multiple continents. This year’s participants hail from Canada, Italy, and Argentina, each bringing diverse perspectives and innovative approaches to the program.

The program’s success is underscored by the achievements of its alumni, who have made significant contributions to the agri-food tech landscape.

The THRIVE Academy is part of the Alberta Scaleup and Growth Accelerator Program which helps businesses scale, grow and contribute to a thriving innovation ecosystem in Alberta. The program is led by Alberta Innovates with funding support from Alberta Technology and Innovation and Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan). The Program contributes to the Alberta government’s goal to help create 20,000 jobs and increase technology firm revenue to $5 billion by 2030.
